Dinner on Halloween can be tricky! The kids are too excited to eat, you’re probably too busy to cook, and no one – not even you, the mom! – really wants anything but candy.
Here at Lifetime Mothers we like to make our traditional Halloween stew, with chunks of beef, yams, carrots, zucchini, tomato and corn. We can make it the day before, or in the crockpot. Even the most impatient little kid can get down a few nutritious bites before heading out the door, and it’s easy for parents and teens to grab a ladlefull between groups of trick-or-treaters.
Do you have a Halloween food tradition? What do you do to get something filling into your kids before the candy rush?
